La biche
La biche is an ongoing poetic ode to my wife and the life we started together as a couple of painters in Paris. Each work references a momentβfleeting or profoundβaccompanied with text that fluctuates in introspection and understanding by romanticizing, reducing, celebrating, or archiving everyday scenes from married life.
With an aim to appreciate a true sense of intimacy, the series extends beyond traditional erotic art, portraying regularly-frequented spaces such as the cafe and studio. Paris, the city where we met, is seen from various perspectives, becoming a central character in this narrative by highlighting its artistic heritage and cultural iconography. Other cities, like Honolulu and Macouria, also bring their own unique energies and influences.
Although hints of contemporary insignia appear throughout the series, La biche contrasts with my more critical explorations of consumer culture and societal dynamics in other bodies of work. Here, the focus is on poetic reflection, tenderness and the natural subtleties found in connection through love.
